Hello. This will be the new home for over 800 book reviews that I have written between 1997 and the end of 2010. They used to be found at http://www.deadtreesreview.com/, but that site will be discontinued.

Chinese Fables

Chinese Fables, Mary W. Ng (ed.), Aim Publishing, 2006

Here is a collection of some 90 Chinese fables; some famous tales, and some not so famous tales. They are universal stories that could apply to anyone in any situation. In just a few paragraphs, they show the reader about the basic truths of life and human wisdom. The first step to happiness is contentment.

These are short tales, many of them less than a page long. At the end of each story, the editor includes a sentence or two on her thoughts about the story. This book can be read in an hour or so, and it is time very well spent. For those looking for some inspiration, and those just looking for some interesting reading, this book is very much worth checking out.
